Cakes etc

I have found myself a new hobby and that is to make cupcakes. I've been making them for years now but ever since buying a piping bag to do the icing I have been experimenting with the different nozzles to see what kind of patterns I can create. These are just a couple of examples of what I've created so far..

Birthday Cake
This is a birthday cake I made for my little sister. It was just a simple Victoria Sponge cake style which I covered with buttercream and then decorated the edge with white chocolate fingers.

Chocolate Fudge Cake
This was my first attempt at making a chocolate fudge cake. I know it looks a bit lumpy but it still tasted pretty damn good! Just need to learn to make it look more attractive now..

Latest Experiment
This is a simple Victoria Sponge cake which I have decorated using butter cream. I decorated the edging of the cake by using my piping bag. For the hearts I melted some chocolate which I poured over some bubble wrap, once the chocolate had set I used a heart shaped cutter to cut out the shapes. I then used the extra chocolate to pipe on some swirls. Cake went down well and everyone enjoyed it :)
